Why does Omega 6 & 9 Matter?

Most people know about Omega 3 benefits in children - cognition, brain development, visual acuity, ADHD, autism, behaviour and intelligence. Similarly, Omega 6 & 9 also play important roles. Omega 6 is essential for child growth and development, whilst Omega 9 helps contribute to heart health. Since the body can generally produce Omega 9, it’s not classified as an essential, but having a balanced intake of all three fatty acids is great for overall well-being.

What Happens if My Child Misses a Dose?

There’s no need to double dose the next day. Just continue with the regular dose the next day.

The Importance of Vitamin B in Early Development

Vitamin B1 and B12 are important for the production of energy and also brain function. Deficiencies in these vitamins can lead to fatigue, irritability, and poor concentration.

Pharmacist-Answered FAQs

Why does my child need a multivitamin?

Children between the ages of 1 and 5 are the fastest-growing ages. Therefore, their nutritional needs are much higher relative to their physical size. Some supplements and vitamins, especially water-soluble ones like Vitamin C and B vitamins, aren’t stored in the body and must be replenished often, including daily.

Can I give this to my baby under 1 year old?

No. This product is only suitable for children aged 1 to 5 years. Infants under 12 months should receive vitamins specifically formulated for their needs, such as Abidec Multivitamin Drops. If you are unsure, you could always book an appointment with our doctors or speak to your local pharmacy.

How does Vitamin D support my child’s health?

Vitamin D3 plays a critical role for bone growth. It works by aiding calcium absorption. A lack of Vit D can lead to weaker bones and, in severe cases, rickets. The NHS recommends daily Vitamin D supplements for children, making this syrup a convenient way to ensure they get enough.

Can I mix this with food or drinks?

Yes. The syrup can be added to water, milk, or juice if your child struggles with the taste. Make sure they consume the full dose.

How is this different from other multivitamins?

Unlike some chewable or gummy vitamins, this liquid formula is easy to swallow and does not contain gelatine. Which makes it more suitable for religious or ethical beliefs.

Can my child take with other supplements?

This depends on the other supplements. If they are taking additional vitamins, check that they are not exceeding safe levels . If unsure, book an appointment with one of doctors or speak to your local pharmacist.

My child drinks a lot of milk - can they still take this?

If your child drinks more than 500ml of formula milk daily, they may already have enough vitamins from the milk, so additional is not always necessary. For those drinking cow’s milk, a multivitamin is still beneficial since cow’s milk is non-fortified with Vitamin D here in the UK.

Does it contain any artificial colours or flavours?

In terms of colouring it this syrup contains carmine and raspberry for flavouring.

Can I give this to my child if they have food allergies?

Check the ingredient list carefully if your child has allergies.
