Pharmacist FAQs Answered

How does Driclor Antiperspirant work?

Driclor Antiperspirant contains the active ingredient aluminium chloride, which effectively blocks sweat glands and reduces excessive sweating. It's designed to prevent the body from sweating in the applied areas. It's ideal for those who suffer from heavy sweating (hyperhidrosis). Driclor starts working after application and will last for several days, so you won't need to use it every day.

How do I apply Driclor Antiperspirant for the best effect?

For the best effect from Driclor, apply it to dry skin, preferably at bedtime. Ensure that the skin is dry as application on wet skin can irritate. You will notice a remarkable reduction in sweating after applying it every night for 2 weeks. After that, you can reduce your usage to using it 2-3 times a week. Do not apply it during the day or after a bath, as it can lead to irritation.

Can I use Driclor after shaving?

Do not apply Driclor immediately after shaving, as it can cause stinging or skin irritation. This is because the skin is more sensitive after shaving. Allow at least 24 hours after shaving before applying Driclor to the newly shaved area to avoid any discomfort. Ensure your skin is dry before using.

What if I have applied Driclor to broken or inflamed skin by mistake?

If you accidentally use Driclor on damaged, inflamed, or sensitive skin, it may cause stinging or mild burning. If this occurs, rinse the product off with warm water immediately. If the irritation continues, do not use Driclor again until the skin has healed. If you are concerned, it's always best to consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Can I use Driclor on any other part of my body besides my underarms?

Yes, you can use Driclor on other areas of your body where you experience excessive sweating, such as hands, feet, or back. Never use it, however, on sensitive facial areas, genitalia, or near your eyes. Make sure skin is dry prior to use to help prevent irritation, and use the same underarm routine.

Is it safe for children and teenagers to use Driclor?

Driclor is not recommended for children under 3 years of age. If you are considering using Driclor on a child or adolescent over 3 years of age, you should consult a doctor or pharmacist first to ensure that it is the most suitable for them. In adolescents with excessive sweating, Driclor can be helpful, but it is best to consult an expert to reduce the risk of skin reactions.

How long will Driclor keep me dry?

As soon as you start applying Driclor, a significant reduction in sweating will be noticed after 2 weeks of daily use. Following the control of sweating, application may be required only 2-3 times a week, and the protection could last for several days. Driclor is designed to provide long-lasting relief from hyperhidrosis so that you can go about your daily life without worrying about excess sweat.
