FAQs Answered by Pharmacists: Feroglobin® Liquid Iron Supplement

What makes Feroglobin a better choice than other iron supplements?

Feroglobin uses a gentle, moderate form of liquid iron called ferric ammonium citrate. This form is easier on the stomach compared to some tablets or stronger iron products that may cause constipation or nausea. It also includes vitamins like B12, folate, and C, which help your body absorb and use the iron more effectively.

Who can benefit most from taking Feroglobin?

Feroglobin is useful for anyone with low iron levels, including women during their periods, pregnant women, children over age 3, and athletes who may need extra red blood cell support. It helps build haemoglobin and red blood cells, which carry oxygen around the body, reducing tiredness and supporting overall energy.

How do I know if I need an iron supplement like Feroglobin?

Signs of low iron can include feeling tired all the time, looking pale, getting out of breath easily, or having trouble concentrating. If you suspect low iron, ask your doctor or pharmacist about a blood test before starting supplements. Taking iron when you don’t need it can cause other health problems.

Is Feroglobin safe to take with other vitamins or medications?

Yes, but with caution. Feroglobin contains a mix of B vitamins and iron, so if you are taking other supplements or medications, especially for thyroid conditions or antibiotics, you should check with a healthcare professional. Taking too much iron or vitamin B12 from multiple sources can be harmful.

Can Feroglobin be taken on an empty stomach?

It’s best to take Feroglobin with food to avoid stomach discomfort and to help with iron absorption. The natural sugars and malt in the formula also help mask the metallic taste of iron, making it more pleasant to take, especially for children.

How long does it take for Feroglobin to start working?

Some people begin to feel more energetic within 1 to 2 weeks, but it usually takes 4–6 weeks of daily use to notice a clear improvement in iron levels. Your doctor may recommend checking your blood again after a few months to see how well it’s working.

What should I do if I accidentally give too much to a child?

Iron overdose in children can be serious. If a child takes more than the recommended amount, seek medical help immediately, even if they seem fine. Always use the right dose for their age and store the bottle out of their reach.
