Product Summary

Brolene Eye Drops helps treat minor infections of the eye or eyelid, including red or inflamed eyes, stickiness or crusting. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria, allowing your body to fight off the infection.

Directions

  • Wash your hands.
  • Remove the cap from the bottle.
  • Tilt your head back.
  • Squeeze one or two drops inside the lower lid without touching.
  • One or two drops in the affected eye up to four times a day.
  • Use for at least 2 days.
  • If your symptoms get worse or do not improve after 2 days, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Ingredients

  • The solution contains 0.1% w/v of the active substance, propamidine isetionate,
  • The other ingredients are ammonium chloride, sodium chloride, benzalkonium chloride, sodium hydroxide and water for injections.

Warnings and Restrictions

  • Always read the leaflet before taking this medicine. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
  • Contents are sterile and should be used within 4 weeks of opening (7 days in a hospital).
  • FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY

Take special care with Brolene Eye Drops if you wear contact lenses.

  • You should not wear contact lenses while applying these drops.
  • You should avoid contact of the drops with soft lenses.
  • You should remove contact lenses prior to using the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before you put your contact lenses back in.
  • You might notice a change in the colour of your contact lenses.

Do not use this medicine, and tell your doctor or pharmacist if:

  • you are allergic (hypersensitive) to propamidine isetionate or any of the other ingredients of Brolene Eye Drops. Signs of an allergic reaction include a rash, swallowing or breathing problems, swelling of the lips, face, throat, tongue, or around the eyes.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Talk to your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant, might become pregnant or think you may be pregnant.

If you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking or using any medicine.

Driving and using machines

Your eyesight may be blurred straight after using these drops. If this happens, do not drive or use any tools or machines until you can see clearly.

If you are not sure if the above apply to you, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Brolene Eye Drops.

Taking other medicines

Speak to your pharmacist or doctor if you are taking any other medications, especially any other medicines for the eyes.

Storage

Store below 25°C.

Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
