Product Summary

Stugeron contains the active ingredient Cinnarizine, an antihistamine which prevents sickness on long journeys (motion sickness. It balances organs in the inner ear, which reduces sensory confusion, as well as working directly with the part of the brain to stop nausea. Stugeron also effectively decreases drowsiness so you can have a comfortable experience on your journeys.

Directions

For oral administration.

The tablets may be sucked, chewed or swallowed.

  • Adults and children over the age of 12: Take 2 tablets two hours before travelling. Take one further tablet every eight hours as required.
  • Children aged 5–12 years: Take 1 tablet two hours before travelling. Take one further half tablet every eight hours as required.

May cause drowsiness. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery.

Avoid alcoholic drinks.

Ingredients

  • The active ingredient in Stugeron 15 tablets is cinnarizine 15 mg.
  • Other ingredients are lactose monohydrate, maize starch, sucrose, talc, magnesium stearate, povidone.

Warnings and Restrictions

  • May cause drowsiness. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery. Avoid alcoholic drinks.
  • Do not use this product for a child under 5 years old.
  • Please consult your pharmacist or doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant, likely to get pregnant or are breastfeeding.
  • Please consult your pharmacist or doctor if you are currently taking any other medicines, as this may cause an interaction.
  • If you think you may be allergic to any of the ingredients contained in this medicine, please seek medical advice before taking it.
  • If you have any questions after you have bought this medication, please speak to your pharmacist.

Do not use this medicine:

  • if you have ever had a bad reaction to any of the ingredients
  • if it is for a child under 5 years old
  • if you are pregnant, are planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

If any of these apply to you, get advice from doctor or pharmacist before using Stugeron.

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Stugeron:

  • if you have Parkinson’s Disease
  • if you have porphyria (a hereditary blood disorder)
  • if you have liver or kidney problems
  • if you are fructose and galactose intolerant
  • if you are drinking alcohol.

Taking other medicines

If you are taking any other medicines, speak to your doctor or pharmacist. This medicine can interact with other drugs, including:

  • tranquilisers (drugs used to relax muscles or decrease anxiety)
  • tricyclic antidepressants or hypnotics (drugs used to treat mood or sleep disorders).

If you are not sure about any of the medicines you are in taking, show the bottle or pack to your pharmacist.

Special warnings about this medicine

This medicine could affect your reaction to skin tests for allergies. Tell your doctor if you have taken Stugeron within 4 days before a test.

Some people may feel drowsy after taking Stugeron. Do not drive or operate machinery if you are affected in this way.

The combined effects of Stugeron and alcohol may make you feel drowsy, so avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.

The combined effects of Stugeron and tricyclic antidepressants and hypnotics (drugs used to treat mood or sleep disorders) may make you drowsy.

Storage

There are no special storage conditions for this product.

Keep the product out of the reach and sight of children.

Do not use your medicine after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
