The AproDerm line of skincare products has been formulated to treat dry, sensitive, eczema-prone, or psoriasis-prone skin. The products are emollients that are designed to soothe, moisturize, protect, and comfort dry skin. They keep out irritants, pathogens, and allergens while keeping in water and lipids.

The AproDerm line of products is formulated for dry skin conditions, including eczema and psoriasis. They are so gentle that they are suitable for all ages, including infants and the elderly. All are free of sodium laureth sulfate (SLS) – a detergent and foaming agent, parabens, benzoyl alcohol, fragrances, and colors. They are suitable for vegans and have not been tested on animals. They’re also safe in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
There is no one right answer. Many products contain the same main ingredients such as soft white paraffin and liquid paraffin, but some products may add other moisturizers (oatmeal), exfoliants, and antimicrobials. It is about trying a product and seeing what works for you.
Formulations may vary. Ointments are best for very dry, scaly, or rough skin and last long between applications, providing good skin repair, but some people may not like their greasy texture. Creams and lotions are less greasy and easier to rub in, but they require more frequent application.
Always wash your hands before and after applying AproDerm. Apply regularly, liberally, and frequently. How often will depend on how dry your skin is but rest assured that emollients can’t be overused. Apply in the direction of hair growth and do not rub in. Allow about 10 minutes for it to absorb into the skin. Some products are formulated to be used before bathing, some as a soap substitute and others as an after-bath moisturizer. Continued use can prevent flare-ups.
AproDerm products are usually very well-tolerated. However, anyone with allergies to any of the listed ingredients should avoid them. Also, they should not be applied to a fresh burn or open wound.
