Voltarol gel comes in 3 different formulations that can be applied directly to the skin.

Salicylic acid, the other active ingredient in Movelat Cream, is a type of pain-relieving medication. It’s able to relieve pain by impeding the production of prostaglandins which have a primary role in causing pain and inflammation.
Movelat Cream is applied topically, which means it is directly applied to the skin over the affected area. This allows for targeted delivery of the active ingredients to the site of pain or inflammation, providing localised relief.
Movelat Cream is available in a cream formulation making it very easy to apply and rub into the skin. It is usually applied 2 to 4 times a day, depending on the severity of the pain or as advised by your doctor.
When followed correctly there are usually little to no side effects from using Movelat Cream. If there is any reaction it’s typically mild skin irritation, redness, itching, a rash at the area it was applied to. Serious systemic side effects are extremely rare. It can irritate asthma so speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
Movelat Cream can be used with other treatments like pain killers, paracetamol, and ibuprofen. If you’re taking any other prescribed medication from your doctor, speak to them first before using Movelat Cream.
The active ingredient in Voltarol, Diclofenac, is a powerful anti-inflammatory NSAID treatment that is able to penetrate the skin and reduce swelling and inflammation. Pain relief: Voltarol can provide effective pain relief by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins. These are substances in the body which are responsible for transmitting pain signals and causing inflammation. This enables Voltarol to alleviate pain at the site of application.
Voltarol is applied topically over the affected area of the skin and rubbed in so it can be absorbed directly into the problem area to treat pain or inflammation. Convenient and easy to use: Voltarol is available in various formulations, including gels, medicated plasters and heat patches. The gels are typically applied 2 to 4 times a day, depending on the formulation and as directed by a healthcare professional.
Voltarol when applied correctly usually has no side effects in most people. If any occur they are typically mild skin irritations to the applied site.
Voltarol is safe to use with other treatments like pain killers, and paracetamol. It shouldn’t be used with ibuprofen however as this can increase the risk of side effects. If you are currently taking any prescribed medication, speak to your doctor first.
Unlike Voltarol, Movelat Cream doesn’t give a suggested time for how long it eases pain for following each application. It can be applied up to 4 times a day every 4-6 hours so can be used regularly however it should not be used for more than 7 consecutive days.
Voltarol 12 Hour Joint Pain Relief Gel will provide pain relief for around 12 hours and if applied twice daily (morning and evening), it can give all day pain relief.
Voltarol is only to be used by people over 14 years of age and should not be used for longer than 7 consecutive days.
Movelat Cream and Voltarol have some similarities to how they work. Neither medication is categorically better than the other, and they are both suitable to use as a joint relief gel, this will be different from person to person.
